About the Role
We are seeking a skilled Surgical Technologist to join our team at Allina Health. As a Surgical Technologist, you will play a critical role in providing care to patients undergoing surgical intervention.
Key Responsibilities
- Participate as a surgical team member, preparing the operating room and setting up for procedures.
- Identify and assemble the necessary surgical instruments, equipment, and supplies.
- Maintain a safe environment for patients and staff, adhering to aseptic technique standards and regulatory requirements.
- Assist the physician in the scrub role during surgical procedures, anticipating needs for instruments and supplies.
- Perform accurate sponge, sharps, and other counts, and account for all instruments and items on the field.
Requirements
- Vocational or technical training in surgical technology from an accredited program.
- Minimum 2-5 years of experience scrubbing in a multispecialty setting.
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) or Tech in Surgery (TS-C) certification required upon hire.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required upon hire.
Physical Demands
- Medium work, with occasional lifting of up to 50 pounds and frequent lifting of up to 25 pounds.
