Job Description
Columbia University's Department of Medicine is seeking a highly skilled Payroll Coordinator to oversee and manage all aspects of payroll processing. This is a pivotal role that involves handling salaried transactions, coordinating with various departments, and ensuring compliance with university payroll policies and procedures.

Salary Range
The estimated annual salary for this position is $62,400 - $70,000. This is a competitive salary range based on market conditions and industry standards.

Key Responsibilities
As a Payroll Coordinator, you will be responsible for providing support to the Payroll Manager, generating payroll reports, reconciling payroll for new hires and salary changes, and serving as a compliance and quality control specialist for payroll and HR transactions. You will also work closely with unit managers to address payroll policy noncompliance and assist with monitoring payments that have expiration dates.

Minimum Qualifications
The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree or equivalent education and experience, exceptional interpersonal and organizational skills, and proficiency in business software applications (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook). A minimum of two years of relevant administrative experience and knowledge of Columbia's payroll systems are preferred.

Work Environment
This is a regular full-time position with a 35-hour workweek. The successful candidate will work closely with the Payroll Manager and other departmental staff to ensure seamless payroll processing and compliance with university policies and procedures.
