Position Overview

The Electromechanical Field Service Technician plays a crucial role in our operations, reporting directly to the Field Services Manager. This position is centered on the installation, repair, and maintenance of both Pregis and Sharp packaging systems, with a primary focus on Pregis equipment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver in-field support and enhance material delivery systems.
  • Schedule and conduct comprehensive preventative maintenance, track machine performance, and monitor material usage.
  • Demonstrate Pregis systems and provide training to end-users on operation and maintenance.
  • Address troubleshooting and quality control reporting for films and machinery.
  • Complete all service-related documentation accurately and promptly.
  • Minimize errors in servicing to enhance customer satisfaction and prevent equipment damage.
  • Conduct inspections and advise clients on strategies to reduce downtime.
  • Provide solutions to technical challenges and maintain expertise on assigned products.
  • Prepare necessary paperwork as required.
  • Assist the Sales department with job quotes when necessary.
  • Manage parts and service tool inventories, ensuring accurate service billing.
  • Test and debug operating routines, assisting others as needed.
  • Support field tests for new products and analyze equipment performance.
  • Maintain accurate records of parts and tools.
  • Adhere to financial and operational policies and procedures.

Qualifications

  • Associates degree or equivalent from a two-year college is preferred.
  • A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience and/or training is preferred.
  • Mechanical assembly skills and the ability to interpret blueprints/manuals are required.
  • Strong mechanical troubleshooting, calibration, and maintenance skills, along with some electrical aptitude, are essential.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with customers and team members.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Effective time management and cost control abilities.
  • A clean driving record is necessary.
  • Willingness to travel within a designated territory, including overnight stays as needed.
  • Physical ability to lift or move up to 25 lbs and walk or stand for extended periods.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office applications is advantageous.
