Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled CT Technologist PRN to join our team at Intermountain Health. As a CT Technologist, you will be responsible for performing a variety of CT procedures using ionizing radiation for diagnostic purposes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure proper patient identification, order verification, and preparation for exams.
  • Perform exams according to department protocol.
  • Understand cross-sectional anatomy and demonstrate anatomical positioning competency.
  • Familiar with the ALARA program and follow proper radiation safety protocol.
  • Demonstrate ability to critique own films.
  • Complete studies within acceptable time limitations per department expectations without compromising patient care or the quality of the examination.
  • Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of protocol relating to contrast administration.
  • Administer oral barium products or intravenous contrast material to patients as ordered by the physician and under radiologist or physician supervision.
  • Practice appropriate infection control and sterile techniques.
  • Provide patient education and ensure patient comfort.
  • Operate CT equipment and related information systems to ensure quality images are produced.
  • Exhibit working knowledge of contrast injectors and laser printers.
  • Exhibit understanding and proficiency with electronic imaging.
  • Thoroughly and accurately complete all required documentation, including time stamps and image storage.
  • Follow appropriate protocol for medical necessity, coding, and charging, obtaining consent if necessary, documenting any events that may occur for quality, maintaining a current QC program for ACR, and reporting any equipment failures or problems.
Requirements
  • Radiography Certification/Registration (ARRT)
  • Relevant State licensure (where required)
  • Demonstrated CT proficiency
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (healthcare)
  • Post-hire expectation: Meets departmental IV certification competency within three months of hire.
  • Post-hire expectation: (Where applicable) Must complete the controlled substance module within six months of hire.
  • Post-hire expectation: (Where applicable) Must complete the initial moderate sedation module within six months of hire.
Preferred Qualifications
  • CT Certification/Registration (ARRT)
  • 1+ year(s) CT experience
