Key Responsibilities- Facilitate Comprehensive Care: Provide comprehensive care to patients, including education, triage, and coordination of care.
- Provide Patient Education: Educate patients on various health topics, including pregnancy, post-operative, and post-partum care.
- Coordinate Appointments: Make patient appointments and coordinate timely scheduling of appointments for ancillary services and specialty referrals.
- Respond to Patient Emergencies: Respond to patient emergencies within the scope of your RN license.
- Screen and Triage Patients: Screen, triage, and respond to patients' inquiries via phone, EMR messages, or walk-in.
- Assist Physicians: Assist physicians with procedures requiring nursing level support, administer immunizations, and manage requests for prescription medication.
- Manage Laboratory Results: Process laboratory results, pull charts, review, and hold partials, flagging abnormal results for provider review and filing normal results.
- Perform Administrative Tasks: Assist with running daily controls on equipment, charting for quality assurance, and ensuring billing codes are correct.
- Education: An RN/BSN from an accredited school of nursing is required.
- Certifications: Current BLS certification is required.
- Experience: A minimum of three years of experience in an ambulatory setting is preferred, with recent experience in the medical office/outpatient setting.
- Skills: Electronic medical records experience is required, with experience with Athena being a plus.
- Licensure: Licensed as a RN by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts is required.
- Excellent Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required.
- Multi-Tasking and Organization Skills: Excellent multi-tasking, communication, and organization skills are required.
- Detailed-Oriented: A detailed-oriented individual is required to perform this role.
- People-Centered Care: The ability to provide people-centered care is essential.
- Nursing Quality Improvement: The ability to improve nursing quality is required.
