About the Role

The Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) position at Cataract & Laser Institute is a vital part of our surgical team. As a CNA, you will work in the direct supervision of a registered nurse to provide exceptional care to our patients before, during, and after surgical procedures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide Patient Care: Collaborate with medical staff and other departments to ensure seamless coordination of patient care in the pre-surgical, operative, and recovery periods.
  • Support Nursing Staff: Assist with transporting patients, maintaining a clean and organized environment, and completing necessary charting and paperwork.
  • Administrative Support: Provide clerical assistance, including data entry, copying, dictations, and inventory management.
  • Quality Assurance: Adhere to compliance standards, ASC philosophies, and state board of licensure regulations to ensure high-quality care.
  • Patient Experience: Establish a compassionate environment by providing emotional and psychological support to patients, friends, and families.
  • Safety and Security: Maintain a safe and clean working environment by following procedures, rules, and regulations.
  • Confidentiality: Protect patient confidentiality and maintain the integrity of our operations.
Requirements
  • Certified Nursing Assistant professional license in the State of Indiana.
  • Current certification in Basic Life Support.

Physical Demands and Work Environment
  • Physical Activity: Standing for sustained periods of time, Stooping, Grasping, Lifting, Talking, Hearing.
  • Physical requirements: Medium work. Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 30 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
  • The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform each activity.
  • The worker may be exposed to the following hazards:
  • Anesthesia gases/agents.
  • Blood and Bloodborne pathogens.
