Job Summary:

As a Long-haul Driver with The SYGMA Network, you will play a critical role in ensuring the timely and safe transportation of products to our customers. This position requires a high level of attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Safely transport products from the warehouse to customer locations, adhering to established routes and company standards.
  • Ensure all paperwork is completed accurately and submitted on time, including DOT electronic or manual logs, inspections, and vehicle maintenance reports.
  • Maintain food safety protocols, ensuring proper temperatures are maintained in the delivery vehicle.
  • Follow preferred work methods and report any unsafe conditions to management.
  • Operate assigned equipment, including pallets, load bars, and personal protective equipment, safely and efficiently.
  • Develop strong relationships with customers through excellent service and clear communication.
  • Communicate with management regarding any deviations to route, trailer, or loading issues, as well as customer or product concerns.
  • Work a varied schedule, including weekends and holidays, to meet customer needs.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent, plus 1 year of tractor-trailer driving experience preferred.
  • Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and push/pull up to 350 pounds with a 2-wheeled hand cart.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

The work environment for this position is fast-paced and dynamic, with frequent exposure to varying weather conditions and potential hazards. The ability to work safely and efficiently in this environment is essential.
