Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Boilermaker to join our team at Lippert Mechanical Service. The successful candidate will have experience in assembling, analyzing defects in, and repairing boilers, boiler tubes, pressure vessels, tanks, and vats in the field according to blueprint specifications.

The Key Responsibilities of this role include:
  • Engaging in the direct cleaning of boilers and boiler furnaces.
  • Inspecting and repairing boiler fittings, such as safety valves, regulators, automatic-control mechanisms, water columns, and auxiliary machines.
  • Examining boilers, pressure vessels, tanks, or vats to locate defects, such as leaks, weak spots, or defective sections, so that they can be repaired.
  • Bolting or arc welding pressure vessel structures and parts together.
  • Inspecting assembled vessels or individual components, such as tubes, fittings, valves, controls, or auxiliary mechanisms, to locate any defects.
  • Repairing or replacing defective pressure vessel parts, such as safety valves or regulators, using torches, jacks, caulking hammers, power saws, threading dies, welding equipment, or metalworking machinery.
  • Attaching rigging and signal crane or hoist operators to lift heavy frame and plate sections or other parts into place.

Requirements
This is a physically demanding role that requires the ability to work in tight spaces, often indoors, but may work outside in poor weather conditions. The ideal candidate will have high school diploma or equivalent and 1-4 years of experience in the trade. We offer a competitive salary of $60,000 - $80,000 per year, depending on experience. This position operates primarily alone and travels to different work sites each day.
