Compensation: $26.16/hr (non-benefited position with no hour guarantee)

Role Summary:
The On-Call Telecommunicator/Emergency Medical Dispatcher plays a crucial role in managing emergency and non-emergency calls. This position is responsible for:
- Responding to 9-1-1 calls and providing essential assistance to callers.
- Making critical decisions regarding the dispatch of fire, police, and EMS services.
- Utilizing two-way radio communication to relay information to mobile units, adhering to FCC regulations.
Key Qualifications:
- Minimum age of 18 years.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Ability to distinguish colors for CAD system operation.
- Completion and maintenance of Basic Telecommunicator and Emergency Medical Dispatch certification within the first year of employment.
- LED certification is necessary.
- Proficiency in English, both spoken and written.
- Experience with office equipment, including computers and radios.
- Strong organizational skills and self-motivation.
- Capability to work independently.
- Ability to make sound decisions under varying stress levels.
- Skills in managing challenging situations and maintaining control.
- Multitasking abilities are essential.
- Knowledge of law enforcement radio operations.
- Understanding of FCC rules and regulations.
- Experience working with diverse communities.
- Strong interpersonal skills to foster effective relationships with colleagues and the public.
- Creative problem-solving abilities.
- Work is subject to continuous pressures requiring innovative thinking.
- Communication Training Officers (CTOs) will provide training to new dispatchers post Field Training Course completion.
