We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) to join our dedicated healthcare team in the Emergency Department of our rural hospital.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct thorough initial assessments of patients presenting to the emergency department.
- Initiate appropriate diagnostic tests and interventions based on the patient's clinical presentation.
- Perform procedures such as wound care, suturing, splinting, and other minor surgical interventions.
- Manage acute and critical conditions, including trauma, cardiac events, respiratory distress, and more.
- Work collaboratively with the emergency department team, including physicians, nurses, paramedics, and other support staff.
- Consult with specialists and arrange for the transfer of patients requiring advanced care to larger facilities if necessary.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing the delivery of emergency care services in the rural hospital.
- Maintain current licensure and certifications, including ACLS, PALS, and others as required.
- Current NY state licensure as a Nurse Practitioner (FNP) or Physician Assistant.
- Certification in Emergency Medicine or a related field is preferred.
- Strong clinical and decision-making skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, rural healthcare environment.
- Willingness to be on-call and work variable shifts as needed.
