We are seeking a highly skilled Nurse Practitioner to join our team at Albany Medical Center. As a key member of our Anesthesiology department, you will play a critical role in providing exceptional patient care and contributing to the delivery of high-quality healthcare services.
Key Responsibilities- Manage an inpatient acute pain service at a Level 1 Trauma Center, performing consultations, coordinating with interdisciplinary services, and educating residents, students, and nurses.
- Develop and implement customized individual analgesic regimens, utilizing multimodal analgesics, regional anesthesia, Ketamine and Lidocaine infusions, and implantable pain control devices for complex patients with multiple co-morbidities.
- Conduct patient assessments, complete physical examinations, collect clinical data, and order and interpret medical laboratory test results.
- Administer medications or treatments, perform minor surgery, and maintain accurate patient medical reports.
- Serve as a resource and team leader during clinical shifts, ensuring the smooth flow of patient processing, treatment, and discharge.
- Master's Degree from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program.
- Ability to quickly master computerized medical recordkeeping and billing systems.
- Professional image and excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written skills.
- HIPAA compliance and licensure as a Nurse Practitioner.
- ACLS, BCLS, and other certifications as required.
This role requires standing, walking, and lifting frequently, as well as pushing, pulling, and climbing occasionally. The ability to work in a fast-paced environment and maintain a high level of accuracy and attention to detail is essential.
