About the Position

We are seeking a highly qualified Piano Professor to join our Music Department at the University of Minnesota Duluth. As a tenure-track Assistant Professor/Associate Professor of Piano, you will be responsible for teaching undergraduate courses, conducting research, advising students, and serving the college, campus, university, discipline, and local community.

Key Responsibilities
  • Teach applied piano, class piano, piano literature and pedagogy, and other courses as needed in areas of expertise
  • Coordinate outreach and recruiting activities to build enrollment in the piano performance program at the undergraduate level
  • Develop effective strategies to recruit and retain piano majors
  • Perform as a soloist and collaborative pianist
Qualifications
  • Doctorate in Music (DMA or PhD) from a nationally accredited institution
  • National recognition and accomplishment as a professional pianist
  • Record of success as a teacher of applied piano
  • Minimum of two years postsecondary teaching experience
