Job Overview

Reports To: Director of Safety & Security, Front Office Manager, Rooms Management

Supervises: N/A

Position Objective: To monitor hotel facilities to ensure safety, enforce policies, and guarantee compliance with relevant regulations. The officer will oversee two properties.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Conduct regular patrols of lobbies, hallways, and communal areas, engage with management, interview guests and staff, and investigate any disturbances, complaints, thefts, or vandalism.
  2. Inspect public spaces to identify fire hazards, unsafe conditions, and malfunctioning safety equipment.
  3. Address disruptive individuals and caution those acting carelessly.
  4. Provide assistance to individuals involved in accidents and complete necessary incident reports.
  5. Alert staff to the presence of individuals with questionable backgrounds.
  6. Support management and law enforcement during emergencies.
  7. May check guest rooms suspected of early departure without payment to verify suspicions and recover any remaining personal belongings.
  8. Perform additional tasks as assigned.

Required Skills:

  1. Ability to think clearly and respond swiftly in emergency situations.
  2. Capacity to learn and implement complex rules and procedures.
  3. Proficient use of security equipment.
  4. Ability to draw conclusions based on factual information and personal judgment.

This job description aims to accurately reflect the position's requirements; however, management retains the right to modify duties as business needs arise.

Qualifications:

Education: High school diploma or equivalent

Experience: None required

Licenses/Certifications: Security Officer certification preferred

Physical Requirements:

Must be able to communicate effectively in English. Requires close and distance vision. Frequently lifts and carries items weighing up to 25 lbs. Regular use of manual dexterity and gross motor skills, with frequent use of both fine and bimanual dexterity. The role involves working in standard office conditions and close proximity to others.
