Postdoctoral Scholar Position

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Postdoctoral Scholar to join our research team at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA). The successful candidate will have a strong background in stem cell biology, genetics, developmental biology, electrophysiology, or neuroscience and will be responsible for conducting independent research under the direction of Dr. Ranmal Samarasinghe.

The research focus will be on neural circuit development and function, utilizing human stem cell-derived brain organoid models. The candidate will have the opportunity to work with cutting-edge electrophysiological recording approaches, computational modeling, next-gen omics, and advanced imaging techniques.

We are particularly interested in how human pathogenic single gene variants impact circuit development and function. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to collaborate with leading research laboratories at UCLA and elsewhere, and will receive mentorship and expert training from collaborators.

The laboratory environment is highly collegial and interactive, and the successful candidate will have the opportunity to present their work at international conferences. A highly competitive salary commensurate with experience will be provided.

To be considered for this position, applicants should have a PhD degree with a strong record of publication and a strong background in stem cell biology, genetics, developmental biology, electrophysiology, or neuroscience.
