Barnes-Jewish Hospital stands as the leading adult hospital in the St. Louis region. Established from the merger of the former Barnes and Jewish Hospitals, it has become Missouri's largest hospital, upholding the legacy of its predecessors alongside its partner, Washington University School of Medicine, in delivering innovative treatments, training future healthcare professionals, and striving to enhance community health.
For over twenty years, Barnes-Jewish Hospital has been recognized on the U.S. News & World Report Best Hospitals Honor Roll. In recent rankings, it achieved 17th overall with 11 specialties recognized. The hospital was also the first in Missouri to earn Magnet designation in 2003 by the American Nurses Credentialing Center for excellence in nursing, consistently maintaining this status.
Barnes-Jewish Hospital is a teaching institution supported by over 1,500 Washington University Physicians, the clinical practice of the Washington University School of Medicine.
