Patient Services Coordinator

Cayuga Health System is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Patient Service Representative to join our team in Trumansburg. This individual will be responsible for handling various administrative tasks, including patient intake, payment processing, and call initiation. The successful candidate will possess strong communication skills, excellent problem-solving abilities, and the capacity to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
- Greet and check-in patients, verifying and updating their demographics as needed.
- Assist patients with filling out consent forms and ensure all necessary documentation is complete.
- Process cash and credit card payments for medical services rendered, maintaining accurate records throughout.
- Initiate calls, pages, and triage phone calls to address patient inquiries and concerns efficiently.
- Support admissions, discharges, transfers, and other customer service or clerical duties to maintain a smooth workflow.
Requirements
- A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
- A professional manner and appearance are essential for success in this role.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills are necessary to effectively interact with patients, staff, and external partners.
- Meticulous attention to detail is vital in maintaining accuracy and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.
- The ability to work independently and manage time effectively is also crucial.
Preferred Qualifications
- College-level training or education in a healthcare support field is preferred.
- Previous experience with EMR systems and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Outlook) will be advantageous.
- Proficiency in medical terms and practices is desired but not required.
Compensation and Benefits
- The hourly pay range for this position is $15.00 to $23.00 per hour.
