At International Leadership of Texas, we are seeking a highly skilled Student Behavior Intervention Specialist to join our team.

The estimated annual salary for this position is $65,000 - $80,000 based on experience and qualifications.

Job Description:

This role requires an individual with expertise in behavior intervention plans, classroom management strategies, and functional behavioral assessments. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of special education principles and practices, as well as the ability to work collaboratively with teachers, parents, and other staff members to develop and implement effective intervention plans.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with instructional staff to design and develop behavioral intervention plans (BIPs) and provide support in implementing BIPs and classroom management strategies.
  • Monitor the effectiveness of BIPs and recommend changes as needed.
  • Conduct functional behavioral assessments (FBAs) based on observation of students in school, home, and community environments, working with school staff and parents to teach socially acceptable behaviors.
  • Participate in admission, review, and dismissal (ARD) committee meetings to ensure success in meeting individual educational plan (IEP) goals.
  • Manage student behavior, administer discipline, and intervene in crisis situations as necessary according to IEP.

Training and Staff Development:

  • Identify staff development needs, develop training, and coach campus personnel to enhance behavioral assessment and intervention skills.
  • Provide behavior management training for parents as needed.

Other Responsibilities:

  • Consult with district and outside resources regarding education, social, medical, and personal needs of students.
  • Take all necessary precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities.
  • Maintain accurate records and reports required by federal, state, district, and school regulations and policies for special education.
