Role Overview: The Senior Laboratory Technology Supervisor will utilize their expertise in technical principles and equipment operation to ensure the delivery of precise and reliable laboratory results. This position requires a strong foundation in clinical correlation and a commitment to excellence in laboratory practices.
Key Qualifications:
- Possession of a Florida State License as a Medical Technologist, Medical Laboratory Scientist, or Clinical Laboratory Scientist in Chemistry, Hematology, and Immunology (Serology) is mandatory.
- ASCP Certification or equivalent (AAB, AMT) as a Medical Technologist or Medical Laboratory Scientist is highly desirable.
- A minimum of 5-10 years of experience in a laboratory healthcare environment is essential.
- 1-2 years of leadership experience is preferred.
- An Associate's degree or higher is preferred; relevant experience may substitute for educational requirements.
- Demonstrated problem-solving abilities and strong communication skills are required, along with a passion for contributing to a collaborative laboratory team.
Responsibilities:
- Execute all duties associated with the Medical Laboratory Technologist role as outlined in the relevant job description.
- Provide support and guidance to laboratory personnel as needed.
- Facilitate training for new staff on laboratory protocols, procedures, and equipment.
- Oversee specific projects and responsibilities as designated by the Laboratory Director.
- Collaborate with the Laboratory Director to share insights and recommendations for new laboratory methodologies and the implementation of updated policies and procedures.
- Engage in management initiatives as assigned.
- Contribute to monthly quality control data collection, proficiency testing, and other laboratory tasks as required.
- Participate in meetings with the Laboratory Director and team to address laboratory matters.
- Adhere to all industry standards and internal safety protocols.
- Consistent attendance is a critical requirement for this role.
