Role Overview:
The Medical Surgical Nurse Coordinator (CNC) is responsible for ensuring high-quality, patient-centered care and overseeing all functions within the unit during the assigned shift.

In collaboration with the management team, the CNC directs, monitors, and evaluates nursing care in alignment with established policies and procedures, serves as a resource for staff, and exemplifies a commitment to the organization's vision and values to enhance patient experiences and clinical outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:
- Facilitate admission and discharge processes to ensure efficient patient flow and high-quality care.
- Assist the director in managing daily operations of Acute Surgical and Medical Oncology, including staffing, supply management, and documentation.

- Participate in the continuous assessment of patient care quality in collaboration with the management team.
- Foster teamwork by collaborating with subject matter experts and other managers to improve outcomes and service.

- Uphold a patient-first philosophy and engage in service recovery when necessary.
- Support facility engagement initiatives by implementing current nursing strategies.

- Provide recommendations for interviewing, selecting, and training new staff.
- Oversee staff scheduling and manage labor in accordance with patient care needs and productivity guidelines.

- Ensure proper inventory control and assist in managing supplies and equipment.

Qualifications:
- Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS) certification is required.
- Graduation from an accredited nursing program with an Associate's Degree is required; a BSN is preferred.

- Current licensure as a Registered Professional Nurse in Indiana or a Compact State RN license is required.
- A minimum of 3 years of acute care nursing experience is required, with 2 years of leadership experience preferred.

- Proficiency in computer applications, particularly Microsoft Office, along with strong oral and written communication skills.
