Welder Specialist

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Welder NC to join our team at Altec Industries. As a key member of our production team, you will be responsible for preparing, assembling, and installing vehicle and/or chipper components to meet the required specifications for our Mechanical, Hydraulic, Electrical, Unit, and Finish departments.

• Read and interpret schematics (blueprints) to ensure accurate assembly and installation of components.
• Read and interpret work orders to understand specific requirements and deadlines.
• Use basic hand tools, such as tape measurers and specialty equipment, to perform tasks efficiently.
• Follow established safety and quality policies, procedures, and practices to maintain a safe working environment.
• Learn and operate all equipment within the work area (cell) to ensure seamless production.
• Perform rework as required to meet quality standards.
• Support APS (Altec Production System) initiatives and participate in RCI events to drive continuous improvement.
• Be willing to move to other work areas to support production needs and cross-train as necessary.
• Maintain daily time records and complete any necessary documentation or paperwork.
• Install unit vehicle and/or chipper components and accessories, and test installed components to ensure proper function.
• Mastery of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and troubleshooting skills to resolve issues efficiently.
• Willingness and ability to train new/current associates to ensure knowledge transfer and skill development.

• High School Diploma/GED from an accredited institution is required.
• Ability to read, write, and comprehend required.
• Basic computer usage knowledge required.
• Ability to read tape measures, blueprints, and schematics required.
• State Certification (career readiness) desired.
• Proficient knowledge of at least one of the following desired: Mechanical, Hydraulics, Electrical, or Manufacturing/Production processes.
