Chief Engineer

Kennedy Jenks is seeking a seasoned and influential Chief Engineer to serve as a strategic leader with the authority to drive technical excellence and innovation in the delivery of engineering services. This role requires a deep understanding of the design process and the application of various engineering-related software, including AutoCAD, MicroStation, Civil3D, Revit, and Microsoft Products.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement technical standards and processes to ensure the continuous evolution of project delivery within the organization.
  • Minimize organizational risk through the development and improvement of design processes, templates, and standards.
  • Lead a Standards Committee to review and update technical standards and approaches.
  • Partner with Construction Management Leads to develop and maintain processes for construction phase management and project engagement.
  • Develop and implement a Technical Learning Program to share key aspects of technical advancements and best practices.
  • Provide strategic direction on technical aspects of projects, including risk management and application of approved processes.
  • Review and develop processes for QA/QC of all projects, including guidance documents and report-back forms.
  • Collaborate with the Project Management Office (PMO) to develop application and verification processes for QA/QC.
  • Chair the Risk Committee to develop risk assessment forms and manage pursuit and project risk discussions.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or a similar engineering field.
  • Master's degree strongly preferred.
  • Practical PM and PE required.
  • 20+ years of experience in water/wastewater design through construction and project delivery.
  • Deep understanding of the design process and the application of various engineering-related software.

Kennedy Jenks offers a competitive salary range of $240,000 - $280,000, depending on education, experience, qualifications, licensure/certifications, and geographic location.
