Job Title: Medical Assistant

We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Assistant to join our team at The Center for Orthopedic and Research Excellence. As a Medical Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and supporting our healthcare team.

Job Summary

The Medical Assistant will be responsible for facilitating communication between patients and healthcare providers, preparing patients for visits, and assisting with medical procedures. You will also be responsible for maintaining exam room standards, monitoring biohazard and sharps containers, and verifying patient information.

Key Responsibilities
  • Facilitate communication between patients and healthcare providers
  • Prepare patients for visits, including rooming patients, obtaining and documenting vitals, and accurately entering data into the EMR system
  • Assist with medical procedures, including cast and soft goods application and removal
  • Maintain exam room standards, including restocking supplies and cleaning as needed
  • Monitor biohazard and sharps containers and replace as needed
  • Verify patient information and ensure accuracy in the EMR system
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; graduation from an accredited Medical Assistant training program preferred
  • One to two years of experience in a medical setting preferred
  • Ability to pass the MA competency exam within 24 months of employment
  • Active certification as a Medical Assistant, such as RMA, CMA, or CCMA, within 24 months of employment
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification preferred
