Job Title: Preschool Assistant

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Preschool Assistant to join our team at The Calhoun County Online Application Consortium. As a Preschool Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting the daily preschool program for children within an assigned age group.

Job Summary:

The Preschool Assistant will assist in the development and implementation of lesson plans, support the Lead Teacher with positive child management, and provide wrap-around care with the after-school program. This role requires strong communication and instructional skills, as well as the ability to work well with children and adults.

Responsibilities:
  • Assist in the development and implementation of lesson plans for children within an assigned age group.
  • Support the Lead Teacher with implementing positive child management in the classroom.
  • Provide wrap-around care with the after-school program, modeling and guiding appropriate child care practices.
  • Work collaboratively with the Lead Teacher to ensure program performance standards are met.
  • Develop and maintain a positive and inclusive classroom environment.
Requirements:
  • Minimum of a high school diploma or general education degree (GES).
  • Associates Degree in early childhood, preschool education, or child development, or Child Development Associate (CDA) certification, preferred.
  • Previous experience in pre-school or early childhood program.
  • Strong communication and instructional skills.
  • CPR/First Aid Certification.
  • Ability to work well with children and adults.
  • Maintain a genuine interest in helping children in their educational and developmental process.
  • Able to work flexible hours as needed for family involvement activities.
