Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Exercise Physiologist to join our team at Baptist Health Care. As an Exercise Physiologist, you will play a critical role in assisting with cardiac stress testing, electrocardiography, and other cardiovascular procedures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist with performing graded exercise tolerance stress testing with and without nuclear medicine to assist in diagnostic testing.
  • Explain procedures to prepare patients for ECG and related tests.
  • Maintain statistics and files completed reports according to established procedures.
  • Provide direction and oversight to those assisting/learning the exercise therapy role.
  • Assist with Cardiac Stress Testing.
  • Perform electrocardiography (ECG) testing, and Holter monitors.
  • Monitor exercise for safety, monitor blood pressure at rest and during exercise and documents procedures according to established guidelines.
  • Select and assess portions of the test strips, interpret data or summarize data for interpretation by medical staff.
  • Maintain sufficient inventory to efficiently operate the EKG services.
  • Perform billing for Holter and stress testing using hospital systems.
  • Maintain equipment by cleaning, lubricating and replacing items such as paper rolls, fuses, and bulbs.
  • Maintain current knowledge/certification/licensure.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Exercise Science, Health Education, Health Leisure & Exercise Science, Kinesiology, or Public Health.
  • 1-3 years of experience in cardiac or fitness/wellness related environment.
  • Completed internship in cardiac and pulmonary related setting.
  • BLS for Healthcare Providers (BLS) American Heart Association upon hire.
  • EKG Technician (CET_NHA) within 2 years.
  • Certified Cardiographic Technician (CCT_CCI) within 2 years.
