Job Summary:

We are seeking a chaplain to provide spiritual care services in the VCU Medical Center. The chaplain will offer professional, multi-faith sensitive spiritual and emotional care to patients, families, and team members. The chaplain is a member of the VCU Department of Patient Counseling and serves on the interdisciplinary team with primary spiritual care responsibilities for patients and families in various clinical environments.

Key Responsibilities:

Respond to traumas, codes, and other crises
Provide spiritual care in a multi-faith context to patients, families, and team members
Support patients and families at the end of life and during times of loss
Assist with advance directives and pre-operative visits
Be a caring and supportive presence to other team members

Requirements:

Bachelor's degree from an institution recognized by CHEA
One or more units of Clinical Pastoral Education
Demonstrated experience working in a diverse environment or commitment to do so

Preferred Qualifications:

Board Certified, Provisionally Board Certified, or Board Eligible Chaplain by a recognized organization
