Nurse Practitioner Specialist

Nurse practitioners (NPs) at Kaiser Permanente provide high-quality patient care services, focusing on acute episodic conditions, chronic problems, health evaluations, preventive care, education, and counseling. They work in primary care or specialty departments, adhering to Regional Standardized Procedures and Process Protocols for Ambulatory and Hospital-Based Practice.
Key Responsibilities:- Conduct thorough physical examinations, including ordering, interpreting, and evaluating diagnostic tests and examinations.
- Diagnose and treat both chronic and episodic disorders, including complications of normal processes.
- Establish and document health care plans and diagnoses, maintaining accurate records for review.
- Develop and implement management plans, facilitating referrals to appropriate health facilities and resources.
- Order pharmacologic interventions and develop educational plans for patients.
- Plan for follow-up care and consistently support compliance with Kaiser Permanente's Code of Conduct.
- Minimum one year of experience as an NP or PA, unless specified by department.
- Graduate of an accredited RN and NP Program or PA program.
- Nurse Practitioner Furnishing Number (California) and National Certificate, Registered Nurse License (California), and Nurse Practitioner Certificate (California), or Physician Assistant License (California) and National Certificate.
- Basic Life Support and National Provider Identifier.
- Willingness to consider Physician Assistant job code 30004.
- Obtain California Furnishing Number and DEA Registration Number within twelve months of hire, if applicable.
