As a Surgical Services Technologist, you will engage in a team-oriented atmosphere to provide exceptional patient care under the supervision of a licensed clinical professional in a healthcare setting.
A Surgical Technologist is responsible for the technical duties associated with the 'scrub' role throughout the surgical patient's perioperative journey.Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare the operating room and assist in patient readiness.
- Equip rooms with necessary instruments, sutures, supplies, and apparatus; unbox sterile materials and organize sterile setups for surgical procedures.
- Conduct office tests and perform administrative tasks.
- Evaluate supplies and equipment for procedures based on surgeons' preferences.
- Exhibit the necessary skills and knowledge to prepare an operating room with the appropriate tools and instruments for specific surgeries.
- Alert the circulating nurse of any missing or defective equipment or supplies.
- Practice cost efficiency by utilizing only the essential supplies required for each procedure.
- High school diploma or equivalent is required.
- Completion of a surgical technician program AND/OR 1-2 years of experience as a Surgical Technologist is preferred.
- BLS certification from the American Heart Association is mandatory.
