The Project Accounting Manager serves as the key accounting contact for project managers and operational staff, reporting directly to the VP of Finance.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage full cycle accounting and clerical tasks for assigned projects, including project setup, client billing, accounts payable, job costing, labor allocation, and project closure.
  • Evaluate existing processes and collaborate with the VP of Finance to enhance efficiency.
  • Organize and maintain accounting documentation related to projects.
  • Work closely with project managers, engineers, and coordinators to support project management activities.
  • Generate and distribute monthly job cost reports and project profitability analyses.
  • Review and process subcontractor payment requests, ensuring compliance with contractual obligations and requirements.
  • Assist in project and corporate audits, and support subcontractor default claims as needed.
  • Investigate and resolve inquiries related to assigned projects.
  • Provide assistance to management on project and accounting-related queries.
Qualifications:
  • At least 5 years of experience in project/job cost accounting, with a minimum of 2 years in a leadership position.
  • Bachelor's degree is mandatory.
  • Experience with Textura or similar subcontract management software is essential.
  • A strong understanding of modern systems, processes, and technology is required.
  • Proficiency in Excel and Word is necessary.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, along with strong interpersonal abilities.
  • Capability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize effectively, and meet deadlines; strong organizational skills are essential.
  • A robust work ethic and a positive, proactive attitude are crucial.
