Job Title: Veterinary Oncology Technician

Job Summary: We are seeking an experienced Veterinary Oncology Technician to join our team at Thrive Pet Healthcare. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in veterinary medicine and a passion for providing exceptional patient care.

Responsibilities:

  • Assess changes in hospitalized patients' condition and advise doctors
  • Perform venipuncture, place IV catheterization, and administer IV/IM/SQ injections
  • Provide fluid therapy and drug calculations
  • Experience in animal handling and restraint
  • Obtain, run, and process diagnostic tests
  • Administer and fill medications
  • Monitor anesthesia and induce and recover patients
  • Facilitate the coordination of patient care
  • Perform bone marrow aspirates, skin punch biopsies, and fine needle aspirates
  • Assist with radiographs and ultrasonography procedures
  • Strong verbal communication skills to provide complex information to clients
  • Assist in patient procedures, exams, and preparation
  • Experience with Ezyvet a plus

Requirements:

  • Minimum 2 years of veterinary technician experience
  • RVT license required
  • Knowledge of veterinary medicine and terminology
  • Prior chemotherapy experience desired
  • Strong verbal and written skills
  • Strong attention to detail and follow-through
  • Ability to communicate calmly and effectively with staff and clients
  • Ability to handle high-stress situations
  • Willingness to cross-train in other areas of the hospital

Working Conditions:

Full/Part-time, 10-hour shifts, 8am-7pm, $26/hr based on experience
