Position Overview: The Asset Protection Associate plays a vital role in safeguarding the retail store's assets by investigating incidents of loss, including merchandise, cash, and property. This position is essential in minimizing loss and shrinkage through vigilant monitoring, investigation, surveillance, and the application of various loss prevention strategies, including the apprehension of shoplifters.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Loss Prevention: Identify and address both internal and external theft incidents effectively.
  • Safety and Security: Serve as the primary contact for safety and security concerns within the assigned stores.
  • Store Audits: Conduct daily store tours to identify vulnerabilities and implement corrective measures as needed.
  • Risk Management: Maintain awareness of high-risk areas to mitigate merchandise losses.
  • Shrink Reduction: Review and apply best practices for shrink reduction during store visits, focusing on areas such as inventory rotation and backroom organization.
  • Reporting: Analyze shrink reports and respond to identified issues and opportunities within assigned locations.

Work Environment:
  • Safety Protocols: Assist in the implementation and communication of company policies related to safety and security training.
  • Secure Shopping Experience: Ensure a safe shopping environment for customers by preventing theft.
  • Associate Safety: Ensure that stores are secure for associates against internal and external theft.

Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid Driver's License and reliable transportation for travel between multiple stores.
  • Up to one year of relevant experience.
  • Understanding of applicable criminal laws.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality regarding all investigative matters.
  • Basic proficiency in MS Office applications.
