Pediatric Speech Language Pathologist Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Pediatric Speech Language Pathologist to join our team at RWJBarnabas Health. As a key member of our Speech Pathology department, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care services to individuals exhibiting communication and swallowing disorders.

Job Summary:

The Pediatric Speech Language Pathologist will be responsible for delivering effective therapeutic services to children and adolescents, remaining knowledgeable of current techniques and best practices in the field. You will communicate Speech-Language evaluations accurately and efficiently, identifying strengths and needs in the area being evaluated. Additionally, you will participate in projects consistent with department and hospital goals and missions, and provide in-service training to staff and community as requested.

Responsibilities:
  • Delivers effective therapeutic services to children and adolescents, remaining knowledgeable of current techniques and best practices in the field.
  • Communicates Speech-Language evaluations accurately and efficiently, identifying strengths and needs in the area being evaluated.
  • Participates in projects consistent with department and hospital goals and missions.
  • Provides in-service training to staff and community as requested.
  • Completes written work in a timely manner, relevant to evaluation, therapy, and patient coordination, and the content of written material meets ASHA specifics.
Requirements:
  • Master's Degree in Speech Language Pathology.
  • NJ State Speech-Language Pathology License or eligible.
  • Certificate of Clinical Competence from American Speech-Language-Hearing Association or eligible.
  • Speech Correctionist or Speech-Language Specialist Certificate.
  • Member of ASHA.
  • AHA BLS Provider Certification.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Student clinical experience in pediatrics; rehabilitation experience.
  • Knowledge of normal development.
