Our organization works to prevent and end homelessness through emergency financial support, collaborative partnerships, data analysis, and research initiatives. We enhance our community's collective efforts to combat homelessness, driven by a vision of impactful change and inspiration. All Chicago MHH fosters collaboration among homeless service providers, non-profit organizations, donors, and individuals with lived experiences of homelessness, aiming to eradicate homelessness in Chicago.

POSITION SUMMARY:

The HMIS Reporting Analyst is crucial in analyzing, interpreting, and processing data to create reports, fulfill data requests, and execute data transformations. This role collaborates within an interdisciplinary team focused on converting data into reports, data extracts, dashboards, and other valuable representations. Additionally, this position will represent the team in project meetings involving external stakeholders, contributing insights into tools, methodologies, and strategies that enhance data efficiency and usability.

An ideal candidate will possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills, delivering high-quality solutions within established timelines and budgets. The HMIS Reporting Analyst will evaluate current implementations and identify best practices or areas for improvement in business processes. Daily responsibilities include collaborating closely with project leads, analysts, infrastructure, and database teams to ensure project activities align with architectural and functional objectives.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Report Development and Maintenance:
  • Generate and maintain scripts for report and data extract creation.
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure clarity and accuracy of requirements and specifications.
  • Serve as the primary resource for all data sources, understanding their interrelationships and appropriate usage.
  • Analyze data sources to design and maintain relevant data infrastructure, performing quality assurance to ensure data accuracy.
  • Investigate and resolve reporting issues related to workflow implementation and data management.
  • Automate the generation and distribution of results through scripts and other mechanisms.
  • Develop methodologies for matching data from various sources.
  • Create and maintain data dashboards.
  • Provide operational support for SQL and other reporting infrastructures.
Relationship Building:
  • Engage with internal and external users and project leads to understand reporting challenges and propose solutions.
  • Communicate effectively with non-technical stakeholders to gather business issues and requirements.
  • Participate in and occasionally lead data-related meetings with internal and external teams.
  • Collaborate with team members to foster cross-functional understanding and solutions.
  • Review documentation to ensure clarity across functions.
Other Tasks:
  • Attend training, seminars, and conferences as needed.
  • Stay updated on relevant technologies to ensure optimal use of available tools.
  • Actively participate in team meetings.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor's degree in information systems, computing, statistics, or related fields.
  • 2-3 years of programming and report-writing experience in a relevant field.
  • Proficiency in SQL scripting for data infrastructure, reports, extracts, and other outputs.
  • Strong familiarity with Python, Excel macros, and MS VBA scripting.
  • High-level knowledge of relational database management systems.
  • Experience in creating and maintaining technical documentation.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office products, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Access.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent communication skills, capable of conveying information clearly to diverse audiences.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to prioritize and manage deadlines in a dynamic environment.
  • Flexibility to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
  • Willingness to occasionally work outside normal business hours and take on additional responsibilities.
  • Strong work ethic, integrity, and adherence to ethical standards.
  • May require occasional out-of-state travel.
