Salary and Benefits
The salary for this position is estimated to be around $1,240 per week, or $31.00 per hour. In addition to a competitive salary, we offer a range of benefits, including annual merit pay increases, on-the-job paid training, medical, dental, and vision insurance, as well as a 401(k) plan with a company match.
Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Diesel Technician to join our team in Tacoma, Washington. As a Diesel Technician, you will be responsible for performing routine maintenance and repairs on our fleet of vehicles, including oil changes, brake and tire work, and other preventative maintenance tasks. You will also be responsible for diagnosing mechanical and electronic problems and performing repairs as needed.
Required Skills and Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you will need to have a high school diploma or equivalent and a combination of classroom training and work experience in mechanical repair. You should also have basic tools and be able to demonstrate aptitude and applied experience in mechanical repair of automotive gas or diesel engines. Additionally, you will need to be able to obtain a valid Commercial Driver License (CDL) within six months of hire and pass a Ryder road test, background check, and motor vehicle check.
Responsibilities
Your responsibilities as a Diesel Technician will include performing vehicle maintenance and repair duties, performing standard vehicle maintenance, and performing standard component inspections and repairs. You will also be responsible for interacting with customers/drivers to properly determine the nature of complaints and utilizing key functions of Shop Management System and electronic documentation available.
