Senior Category Sourcing Manager for New Regions

About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Category Sourcing Manager to join our team in New Regions. As a key member of our AWS Infrastructure team, you will be responsible for creating and implementing sourcing strategies for services required for all Power and Cooling sub-categories, including Mechanical, Electrical, and Power Generation categories.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and execute category sourcing strategies to achieve cost savings and drive collaboration with suppliers.
  • Manage complex category within the Maintenance, Repair, and Operation (MRO) domains.
  • Obtain market intelligence and analyze category data to drive sourcing category strategies.
  • Lead supplier selection process across multiple sub-categories, internal teams, and regions.
  • Ensure knowledge of the supply market, new innovations, and supplier capabilities, technically and geographically.
  • Develop category strategies to incorporate sustainability, diversity, and in-country value.
  • Lead business reviews to discuss best practices and issues to improve supplier performance and strengthen business partnerships.
  • Innovate within the procurement space, automating and/or improving tools or processes to better support the Procurement Lifecycle.

Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 8+ years' experience in a Procurement organization performing sourcing, vendor management, contract management, negotiating complex purchases, and bidding.
  • 4+ years' experience developing category strategies and pricing models as a Project Manager who can prioritize workload and manage complex projects within cost and schedule.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Masters degree in Business, Procurement & Supply chain or relevant business discipline.
  • Ability to communicate and report on market intelligence data, including commodity trends and labor indexes.
  • Demonstrated success in driving strategies and analyzing market trends.
  • Experience in data centers, engineering, an infrastructure service provider or similar technology company.
  • Developing market intelligence to communicate across the organization.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written and highly proficient in MS Office.
  • Experience with creating Procurement systems and tools.
  • Proven ability to implement category sourcing strategies globally.
  • Proven ability to deep dive and develop innovative ideas for process improvements.
