Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Pharmacy Technician II to join our team at Christus Health. As a Pharmacy Technician II, you will play a critical role in providing exceptional patient care and supporting our clinical pharmacy team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist pharmacists with medication histories and verify patient medication records accurately.
  • Train and mentor junior pharmacy technicians to ensure they meet the required competencies.
  • Prepare and compound pharmaceuticals, including non-sterile and sterile products, chemotherapy, and parenteral nutrition products.
  • Issue controlled substances to patient care areas and maintain accurate records.
  • Provide efficient and timely services, ensuring that daily activities are complete and recorded.
  • Maintain current technician license and ensure CE records and licensure are up-to-date.
  • Participate in quality improvement and medication use review activities, collecting data and conducting monitors and inspections.
  • Conduct designated interventions, such as IV to PO conversions and pharmacokinetic dosing support.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • 3-5 years of pharmacy technician experience preferred.
  • Registered Pharmacy Technician in the state of practice required.
  • Certified Pharmacy Technician preferred.
  • ACPE accredited IV certification program, including hazardous (minimum 40 hours).
Work Environment
