Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Carpenter/Painter to join our team at Central State Hospital. As a Carpenter/Painter, you will be responsible for analyzing defects and malfunctions, performing as a Journeyman Carpenter and Painter, and completing small repairs in various areas, including plumbing, electrical, and HVAC.

Key Responsibilities
  • Analyze defects and malfunctions to determine the scope of the problems
  • Perform as a Journeyman Carpenter and Painter with responsibility for a complete project from initial layout to final assembly
  • Complete small repairs in the areas of plumbing, electrical, and HVAC
  • Must have a valid Virginia driving license
  • Must possess full range of skills in repair and construction in the area of carpentry and painting
  • Understand blueprints and shop drawings
  • Competent in the repair and installation of standard and correctional locks used at CSH and HWDMC
  • Ability to perform small repairs in the areas of plumbing, electrical, HVAC and painting
  • Requires basic computer knowledge and skills
Requirements
  • Ability to read, understand, and follow written job assignment
  • Must have a valid Virginia driving license
