Job Overview: The role involves welcoming guests, verifying identification when necessary, managing guest flow, and ensuring guest areas are well-maintained through the following responsibilities:
- Acts as the first and last point of contact for all guests; greets them warmly and expresses gratitude upon their departure.
- Engages with guests while they wait and are seated, providing information and conversation.
- Introduces guests to their assigned server.
- Accommodates special requests from guests.
- Ensures guest satisfaction by thoroughly answering inquiries, addressing complaints or directing them to management, and offering specific recommendations.
- Quotes accurate wait times, distributes paging devices as needed, and maintains an efficient waiting list.
- Guides guests to the appropriate waiting area.
- Coordinates the orderly movement of guests within the dining area using a table management system.
- Maintains knowledge of table numbers, seating arrangements, and staff assignments.
- Communicates effectively with guests, colleagues, and management.
- Keeps the host stand organized and well-stocked.
- Handles incoming phone calls and related inquiries.
- Ensures cleanliness around the entrance and guest restrooms, maintaining a litter-free environment.
- Monitors and replenishes restroom supplies.
- Assists management in training new staff members as needed.
- Completes all assigned opening, ongoing, and closing tasks.
- Maintains a comprehensive understanding of the company's offerings and events, fostering rapport with guests through name recognition.
- Informs management of low inventory levels and suggests new items; communicates concerns and opportunities.
- Performs additional duties as assigned by management, demonstrating a sense of urgency.
- Adheres to responsible alcohol service policies.
- Understands and follows all safety and sanitation protocols, reporting any incidents to management.
- Complies with all company policies and procedures as outlined in the employee handbook.
Requirements:
- Skills/Experience:
- Preferred one year of experience in a guest service role; experience in a food and beverage setting is advantageous; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to interact professionally with various departments and external contacts.
- Capability to manage a heavy workload and multitask in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision.
- Sound judgment and decision-making skills.
Educational Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED preferred.

Work Environment:
- Exposed to varying weather conditions and temperature fluctuations.
- Subject to moderate to high ambient noise levels.
- Frequently required to navigate narrow aisles or passageways.
- Potential hazards include cuts from broken glass, burns, slipping, and tripping.
- Regular handwashing and/or glove use required.

- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating instructions, and procedure manuals.
