We are seeking a highly skilled Speech Language Pathologist to join our interdisciplinary team. As a key member of our therapy department, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional care to our residents.

Job Summary:

Treat and evaluate residents who require speech language pathology services. Identify residents who may benefit from therapy and collaborate with physicians to develop personalized treatment plans.

Responsibilities:

  1. Evaluate and treat residents with various communication disorders, including aphasia, apraxia, and dysarthria. Develop and implement effective treatment programs based on individual needs and goals.
  2. Maintain accurate and detailed records of resident interactions, progress, and treatment outcomes. Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to ensure seamless care coordination.
  3. Stay current with best practices and evidence-based treatments in speech language pathology. Participate in ongoing education and professional development opportunities to enhance clinical skills.
  4. Provide clear communication and education to residents, families, and healthcare professionals regarding treatment options, progress, and discharge plans.
  5. Contribute to the development and implementation of quality improvement initiatives that promote excellent patient care and satisfaction.
  6. Other duties as assigned by the Director of Therapy.

Requirements:

  • New York State license to practice Speech Language Pathology
  • Degree from an accredited university for speech therapy
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
