TIG Welder

Doherty Staffing Solutions is partnering with a leading manufacturing company to fill TIG Welder positions on the 2nd shift. This opportunity offers a competitive hourly rate ranging from $18.00 to $28.00, depending on skills and experience.

• Perform high-quality TIG welding on aluminum materials, utilizing precise heat control and filler metal to create strong and aesthetically appealing welds.
• Clean and prepare aluminum surfaces for welding, removing any contaminants or impurities that could affect the quality of the weld.
• Examine and verify the integrity of aluminum materials to ensure they meet the required quality standards before welding.
• Set up and adjust welding equipment, including selecting the appropriate TIG welding torch, gas flow, and amperage, based on the thickness and type of aluminum being welded.
• Inspect finished welds for defects and discontinuities, using visual inspection and non-destructive testing methods as required to ensure the product being manufactured meets required specifications.
• Safely handle and move aluminum materials and welded components during the welding process.
• Monitor the manufacturing process to maintain a steady workflow and promptly address any deviations or inefficiencies.
• Accurately record production data in Epicor, machine settings, and maintenance activities to maintain production records and assist in process improvement efforts.

• High school diploma required; technical secondary education is preferred.
• 2+ years of experience working in a manufacturing environment.
• Must have experience in TIG welding and MIG welding.
• Ability to read and interpret welding symbols, blueprints, and engineering drawings.
• Familiarity with different grades and types of aluminum and their corresponding welding requirements.
• Ability to read, write, and comprehend plant directives written in English.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds with or without reasonable accommodations.
