The English Department is looking for candidates who reflect our core values, which include high achievement for all students, teaching excellence, collaboration, innovation, respect, and responsibility.

Key Responsibilities
  • Foster an identity-safe, empathetic, and active learning environment by integrating social learning into the classroom.
  • Design and execute lesson plans for multiple English Language Arts classes that align with state standards and district curriculum.
  • Maintain regular communication with students and their families, engaging them as partners in the educational process.
  • Collaborate with a diverse team of professionals, including special educators and support staff, to enhance student learning.
  • Regularly assess student progress and adapt instructional strategies based on assessment outcomes and individual student needs.
Qualifications
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and sustain productive relationships within a diverse educational community.
  • Familiarity with the Common Core and Massachusetts Curriculum Framework for English Language Arts.
  • A commitment to professional growth and a strong work ethic.
  • Proficient in creating a positive classroom environment and employing restorative practices in discipline.
  • A Bachelor's degree is required; a Master's degree is preferred.
  • Massachusetts Teacher Certification in 9-12 English Language Arts is required.
