Job Summary

The Staff Pharmacist in Oncology at Berkshire Health Systems is a key member of our multidisciplinary team, responsible for providing patient-centered care in a fast-paced practice setting. As a seasoned pharmacist, you will assess patient therapy for appropriateness, incorporate age-specific modifications, and implement clinical interventions to prevent adverse drug events.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct clinical research and participate in professional development programs to stay up-to-date on the latest treatments and medications.
  • Collaborate with oncology team members to standardize ordering procedures for chemotherapeutic medications.
  • Supervise pharmacy technicians and other support personnel to ensure efficient and accurate medication preparation and dispensing.
  • Develop and update department and nursing policies to ensure compliance with regulations and best practices.
Requirements
  • Doctoral of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) from an accredited college of Pharmacy.
  • Completion of ASHP accredited PGY1 Pharmacy Residency in Oncology is preferred.
  • Board Certification Oncology Pharmacist (BCOP) is required within 18 months of employment.
  • Valid license to practice as a pharmacist in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Extensive acute care clinical experience may be considered in lieu of formal training.
Work Environment

The Staff Pharmacist in Oncology will work in a dynamic and supportive environment, utilizing pharmacy and hospital computer systems, Alaris Smart Pump, and other specialized equipment to provide high-quality patient care.
