Key Responsibilities:

  1. Collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams to manage cardiac surgery patients throughout their care continuum.
  2. Gather and analyze pertinent health data, including the interpretation of diagnostic tests and procedures.
  3. Develop and implement treatment strategies for cardiac conditions within the established scope of practice.
  4. Differentiate between normal and abnormal clinical findings to aid in diagnosis.
  5. Identify assessment strategies and therapeutic interventions that are evidence-based, collaborating with supervising cardiac surgeons as necessary.
  6. Provide direct patient care and manage complex cases, enhancing patient engagement through clear communication of treatment plans.
  7. Contribute to quality improvement initiatives and patient satisfaction assessments, utilizing feedback for continuous enhancement of care delivery.
  8. Stay informed on current healthcare research to advance clinical knowledge and improve professional practice.
  9. Participate in on-call duties, including night and weekend responsibilities.

Qualifications:

  • Graduation from an accredited Physician Assistant program or an accredited nursing program as an Acute Care Nurse Practitioner.
  • A minimum of two years of relevant clinical experience in Cardiac Surgery.

Licensure/Certification Requirements:

  • Active License as a Physician Assistant or Acute Care Nurse Practitioner.
