Job Overview

Good Harvest Market, a leading independent natural grocery store, is on the lookout for a dedicated full-time Produce Stocker Clerk. This position not only involves stocking but also plays a vital role in our fresh cut fruit initiative, ensuring that our customers have access to freshly prepared and packaged cut fruits on the sales floor.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Efficiently stock, wash, bundle, and trim produce while adhering to department procedures and management expectations.
  • Maintain the produce wet rack in optimal condition.
  • Possess a thorough understanding of produce, particularly organic varieties, and provide customers with information regarding their use and preparation.
  • Ensure sample products are rotated and maintained on the sales floor.
  • Properly dispose of culls following departmental guidelines.
  • Keep back-stock areas organized and up to departmental standards.
  • Assist in opening and closing the department as directed.

Qualifications:

  • Exceptional customer service abilities.
  • Preferred minimum of one year experience in produce stocking.
  • Flexible availability for retail hours, including weekends and holidays.
  • Capability to regularly lift up to 70 lbs.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods, typically 4+ hours.
  • Strong work ethic and commitment to quality.

Physical Environment:

  • Engage in constant walking, reaching, and bending.
  • Frequent squatting, climbing, and lifting required.
  • Work conditions may vary, including exposure to different temperatures while handling produce in refrigerated areas and outdoor environments.
