Role Overview: The Physical Therapist will be responsible for the comprehensive planning, delivery, and coordination of patient care, adhering to established clinic protocols and maintaining the highest standards of quality in a secure environment. This role involves collaboration with a multidisciplinary team to uphold professional physical therapy practices.
The therapist will utilize independent judgment and take accountability for the physical therapy services delivered by assistants and aides. There may be opportunities to mentor staff and students and to assume leadership responsibilities in the absence of the Clinic Director.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality patient assessments and care in line with established standards and clinic policies.
- Conduct thorough patient evaluations, summarize clinical findings, and create individualized care plans that align with patient goals.
- Administer treatments according to physician directives and established care plans.
- Monitor and assess the effectiveness of treatment plans, making adjustments as necessary.
- Engage in effective communication with patients, families, and healthcare team members to optimize care outcomes.
- Collaborate with referral sources regarding patient progress to ensure comprehensive care.
- Identify educational needs of patients and their support systems to enhance care effectiveness.
- Exhibit knowledge and application of clinical techniques suitable for the patient demographics served.
- Develop and implement appropriate discharge plans.
- Evaluate safety risks and implement necessary precautions.
- Adhere to established security and safety protocols.
- Utilize leadership skills to delegate, organize, and educate team members.
- Contribute to quality improvement initiatives.
- Optimize patient scheduling and achieve efficiency metrics.
- Ensure timely and compliant documentation using the designated electronic medical record system.
- May require travel to local clinics as needed.
Qualifications:
- Master's or Doctorate degree in Physical Therapy.
- Current licensure and certification as required by state regulations.
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to meet the physical demands of the role, including standing, walking, and lifting as necessary.
- Regularly required to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, with occasional lifting of more than 100 pounds.
