We are seeking a highly skilled Certified Medical Laboratory Scientist to join our team in Hallam, Pennsylvania.
Key Responsibilities- Perform routine and specialized testing and procedures with supervision as appropriate.
- Operate a variety of laboratory instruments and maintain related records.
- Conduct quality control and instrument check procedures.
- Identify and classify microorganisms found in bodily fluids, exudates, skin scrapings, autopsy and surgical specimens.
- Group or type blood of donors and recipients, and determine compatibility of donor blood products with intended recipients.
- Perform chemical and/or immunological tests to identify and/or quantitate substances found in blood and other body fluids.
- Count, describe morphology of, and perform specialized studies on blood and other body fluid cells.
- Prepare and maintain reagents, and other solutions and stains according to standard formulas.
- Train other employees in day-to-day procedures.
- Consult with medical staff and other health care providers on matters relating to laboratory services.
- Prior lab experience and knowledge (completion of student clinical rotations).
- ASCP certification (eligible/willing to obtain accepted).
- BS degree required.
- Full-time and permanent position.
