Basic Qualifications:

A Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related technical field is essential, accompanied by a minimum of 8 years of pertinent experience; alternatively, a Master's degree with at least 6 years of relevant experience is acceptable to fulfill managerial criteria.

CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS:
A Department of Defense Secret security clearance is mandatory within a reasonable timeframe. Selected candidates will undergo a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility standards for access to classified information. U.S. citizenship is a prerequisite due to the nature of the work.

Responsibilities:
General Dynamics Mission Systems is seeking a Systems Validation Engineering Technical Manager. This role presents an opportunity to advance cutting-edge technologies that underpin critical defense and intelligence services. Our team collaborates closely with esteemed clients to devise solutions that facilitate high-stakes national security missions.

Key Duties:

  • Lead functional teams to enhance program execution performance.
  • Supervise a minimum of two individuals, providing first-level oversight.
  • Select, develop, and assess personnel to ensure efficient operational performance.
  • Oversee Verification and Validation System Engineers in researching, designing, developing, integrating, and testing new systems prior to production.
  • Manage Hardware Design Verification, Environmental, and EMI Qualification to military standards.
  • Guide the creation of project Verification and Validation plans, procedures, and reports.
  • Determine appropriate standards, processes, procedures, and tools throughout the system development lifecycle to support the generation of technical engineering products.
  • Engage in creative and innovative responsibilities requiring advanced decision-making skills.
  • Assign tasks and conduct regular reviews of employees' work, participating in performance evaluations and workload planning.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the group and processes.
  • Perform technical activities impacting proposal, system-level design, detailed design, and manufacturing of advanced electronic systems.
  • Participate in the proposal process.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Proficient in requirements management, system design, verification, and validation.
  • Demonstrated understanding and application of systems engineering concepts, principles, and theories.
  • Extensive experience in deriving and managing requirements and establishing verification procedures to ensure comprehensive test coverage.
  • Familiarity with automated regression testing and continuous integration.
  • Working knowledge of system accreditation/certification evaluation and test support to guarantee all technical security features.
  • Exceptional written, verbal, and presentation communication skills, particularly in articulating issues, impacts, and corrective actions.

Preferred Qualifications:
A Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field is required (or equivalent experience) along with a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience; or a Master's degree with at least 6 years of relevant experience to meet managerial expectations.
