Job Title: Licensed Practical Nurse

Valor Healthcare is seeking a dedicated Licensed Practical Nurse to join our team at the Community Based Outpatient Clinic (CBOC) in Escondido. As a valued member of our team, you will play a crucial role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the success of our organization.

Job Summary:

We are looking for a skilled Licensed Practical Nurse to provide medical treatment and personal care services to patients with diseases and injuries seeking treatment in the clinic. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in primary care and ambulatory care settings, with a focus on delivering exceptional patient care and outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist with patient care, physical examinations, and ancillary tests
  • Perform annual and routine nursing assessments and preventive health services
  • Administer medications, apply compresses, and observe patient reactions
  • Operate electrocardiograph (EKG) and other diagnostic equipment
  • Dress wounds and incisions, interpret physician instructions, and assist with emergencies
  • Collect lab specimens, perform waived laboratory tests, and submit results to medical providers
  • Clean treatment rooms, equipment, and supplies
  • Input patient information into VISTA/CPRS and complete clinical reminders
  • Assist with front desk, phone coverage, and co-managed care collaboration
  • Provide patient and family health education, advise on community resources, and maintain confidentiality
Requirements:
  • Diploma or certificate from an accredited program of practical or vocational nursing
  • Minimum one-year experience as an LPN/LVN in a related primary care or ambulatory care setting
  • Credentialed and in good standing through the Veterans Health Administration (VA)
  • Valid, unrestricted license in the state of desired employment
  • Current certification in Basic Life Support and ACLS
  • Proficiency in written and spoken English
  • Strong computer skills, including EMR experience
