SUMMARY:

The role involves delivering engaging educational experiences and activities in the assigned core academic subject area, aimed at fostering students' intellectual, emotional, physical, and social development. The objective is to equip students with the necessary competencies and skills to thrive in society.

Essential functions, in accordance with the Americans with Disabilities Act, may encompass the typical duties and responsibilities outlined herein; however, this list serves as examples and is not exhaustive of all functions and tasks associated with this position.

Uphold the core organizational beliefs and values of Keller ISD; execute responsibilities effectively and efficiently to support and enhance student achievement. Provide program assistance and service delivery; communicate proficiently within and across teams, and engage in collaborative work groups. Maintain dedication to the District's mission; exemplify District expectations through personal leadership and actively support the initiatives of others to achieve District objectives.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES

Instructional Strategies

Design and execute lesson plans for in-person instruction that meet the requirements of the District's curriculum program, ensuring written evidence of preparation as mandated. Prepare lessons that accommodate individual student differences. Strategically plan and utilize appropriate instructional methods, activities, materials, equipment, and technology that reflect an understanding of the diverse learning styles and needs of assigned students, presenting subject matter in accordance with guidelines established by the Texas Education Agency, board policies, and administrative regulations. Assess student learning styles and leverage results to inform instructional planning. Collaborate with Special Education Teachers to adapt curricula as necessary for Special Education students, adhering to guidelines set forth in Individual Education Plans (IEP). Work alongside other staff members to establish instructional goals, objectives, and methodologies in alignment with district requirements. Delegate tasks to instructional aides and volunteers, overseeing their completion.

Student Growth and Development

Conduct ongoing evaluations of student progress through both formal and informal assessments. Take responsibility for extracurricular activities as assigned, sponsoring approved outside activities. Serve as a positive role model for students.

Classroom Management and Organization

Foster a classroom environment that is conducive to learning and supports the physical, social, and emotional development of students. Manage student behavior in accordance with the Student Code of Conduct and student handbook. Implement all necessary precautions to safeguard students, equipment, materials, and facilities. Assist in the selection of books, equipment, and other instructional resources. Compile, maintain, and file all required reports, records, and documentation.

Communication

Effective communication is essential in this role, ensuring clarity and understanding among students, parents, and colleagues.
