As an Afternoon Educator at Primrose School of Druid Hills, you will play a crucial role in nurturing young learners as they explore and understand their surroundings. We are looking for a dedicated and passionate individual to develop and execute a continuous program of activities that foster the social, emotional, cognitive, and physical growth of each child, aligned with the Primrose Balanced Learning philosophy.
Key Responsibilities:- Oversee the daily operations and supervision of a classroom of children.
- Adhere to all regulations and guidelines set forth by Primrose School of Druid Hills and relevant regulatory bodies regarding child health, safety, and care.
- Continuously evaluate each child's developmental progress.
- Implement approved lesson plans and manage the daily classroom schedule in line with the Primrose Balanced Learning curriculum.
- Collaborate with leadership to organize parent-teacher conferences and assess student progress.
- Maintain a welcoming and organized classroom environment that encourages creativity, exploration, and confident decision-making among children.
- Provide positive reinforcement and clear expectations for children's behavior.
- Take responsibility for the upkeep and cleanliness of the classroom, shared spaces, and outdoor areas.
- Participate in all mandatory staff meetings, training sessions, and school events.
- Uphold a professional appearance in accordance with the Primrose School of Druid Hills Employee Handbook.
- Assist in various tasks as directed by the Director or designated personnel.
- Availability to work until closing hours is essential.
- Must fulfill the basic requirements set by local child care regulatory agencies.
- Prior experience in a teaching or assistant teaching role within a licensed early childhood program is preferred.
- Understanding of the social, emotional, and creative needs of young children is essential.
- Ability to lift up to 35 lbs. for the safety and handling of children.
- For Infant - Preschool Teachers: A two-year degree in early childhood education or a related field is preferred.
- For Pre-Kindergarten Teachers: A four-year degree in early childhood education or a related field is required.
- For Kindergarten Teachers: A four-year degree in early childhood education and state certification to teach is required.
