Position Overview

The Pennington County Sheriff's Office is seeking applications for the role of Correctional Facility Security Officer within our adult detention center. This position is integral in maintaining a secure and safe environment for both staff and inmates.

Correctional Facility Security Officers will be assigned to various shifts, ensuring coverage during critical hours. Responsibilities include monitoring inmate activities, conducting security rounds, and responding to emergencies as needed.

The role also involves participation in the IGNITE Initiative, which focuses on providing educational and vocational opportunities to inmates, aiming to reduce recidivism and foster community relations.

Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Must be at least 19 years of age.
  • Preference for candidates with experience in military, public safety, or security fields.
  • Ability to pass a thorough background check and drug screening.
  • No felony convictions.
